Forest School & Outdoor Adventures for Toddlers in Norfolk
WildTots is our parent-and-child outdoor programme for little ones under 5, giving you and your child plenty of opportunities to explore, play and connect with nature together.
From our regular Forest School sessions in the GroWild woods to special events, storytelling adventures and days out exploring more of Norfolk, WildTots gives your child time and space for:
- Child led woodland play
- Diggers, trucks, dinosaurs
- Sensory, squishy painting & clay
- Digging, building, climbing
- Seasonal exploration through mud, soil & natural materials
- A shared campfire moment with a warm snack
- Stories and songs around the fire or in the woods
- Plenty of time to return to favourite play and explore at their own pace
WildTots sessions are relaxed and welcoming, with no pressure to join in. Your child is encouraged to follow their interests, explore at their own pace and enjoy being in nature alongside you.
HOW WILDTOTS SESSIONS WORK:
Each WildTots session is designed to give your child the freedom to explore, play and connect with nature, with familiar faces, experienced Forest School practitioners and plenty of space to follow their own curiosity.
There are now several ways for you and your child to join WildTots throughout the year:
Regular Termly WildTots sessions run on Wednesday and Friday mornings in our woodland and follow a familiar rhythm that helps your child feel settled and confident. These run as a term-based programme, with a choice between a regular weekly place or more flexible occasional attendance.
Woodland Story Box Adventures bring storytelling and imaginative play into the woods, with weekly themed sessions led by Rosalind from Act Out Education. Your child can explore stories through props, puppets, movement, music and role play, all within the familiar WildTots woodland setting.
WildTots Wanderers takes you and your child beyond our woods, with monthly meet-ups at different nature-rich locations across Norfolk. From woodlands & wetlands to beaches & meadows, each session gives you somewhere new to explore together.
We also run themed seasonal specials throughout the year, usually during school holidays or at weekends, giving you even more opportunities to enjoy time outdoors together.
Each session is themed around the time of year, such as Easter, the Summer Solstice, Halloween, the Winter Solstice or Christmas, and is designed to feel a little different from our regular weekly sessions.

£8 per session: depending on which half-term you join us, the weekly cost for the remaining half-terms for 2026 is calculated and then split into monthly payments. Monthly amounts are shown in the section ‘When Would You Like To Start?’

WildTots Seasonal Pass - flexible option when you can’t commit weekly
The WildTots Seasonal Pass is designed for families who need flexibility but still want to enjoy the WildTots experience.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT WILDTOTS FOREST SCHOOL SESSION FOR YOUR FAMILY:
WILDTOTS FOREST SCHOOL THEMES ACROSS THE YEAR:
WildTots Forest School themes change with the seasons, giving your child the chance to explore the woodland in different ways throughout the year.
Members can join at the start of any half-term block, simply select the earliest block (below) that you would like to start with us, monthly payments are calculated to reflect the sessions remaining for 2026.
This half-term invites your child to notice the shift into autumn, as the woodland begins to change in colour, light and texture. Through harvest-inspired play and creative exploration, children will observe seasonal change, work with natural materials, and develop a growing sense of care for trees and the wider woodland.
Autumn Half-Term 1 Dates: 9th or 11th September to 14th or 16th October (6 weeks)
Members Price covering this and remaining 2026 blocks: One child £26.66 x 3 mthly payments / One child + 1 sibling £40 x 3 mthly payments
Seasonal Pass Price 3 sessions: One Child £36 / One child + 1 sibling £48
Activities across the half term may include:
- Harvest-inspired play using apples and other seasonal foods
- Collecting, sorting and comparing natural materials such as leaves, seeds and fruits
- Mud kitchen soups, potions and autumn recipes using seasonal ingredients
- Building with sticks, planks, crates and loose parts to create shared structures
Children will also explore:
- Observing seasonal change through falling leaves, shifting light and weather
- Creative exploration using leaves, clay, charcoal and natural dyes
- Preserving and harvest-themed imaginative play
- Developing care and respect for trees and the woodland environment
- Slowing down to notice the sights, sounds and textures of autumn
This September and October, we’re welcoming Rosalind from Act Out Education into the GroWild woods for a new series of Woodland Story Box Adventures.
Each session begins with Rosalind opening the Story Box to reveal a new world of props, puppets and characters. From there, children become part of the adventure themselves through movement, music, role play, crafts and imaginative play, with the woodland becoming the stage for a different story each week.

The forest becomes the stage, the children become part of the story, and no two adventures are quite the same.
WildTots Wanderers is a new addition to our regular WildTots sessions, with a monthly meet-up somewhere different across Norfolk.
WildTots has always been about giving little ones the freedom to explore, play and connect with nature. Now we’re taking that same idea out to even more of Norfolk’s wild places, from woodland and parkland to farms, wetlands, beaches and meadows.
There’ll be simple nature-based activities and discoveries along the way, but just like WildTots, there’s no pressure to join in or keep up. Come for the fresh air, the exploring, the muddy boots and the chance to meet other local families.

🐷 Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse | Tuesday 13th October
- Explore the historic buildings and heritage farm at one of Norfolk’s best-loved family attractions
- Meet rare breed farm animals and discover more about the animals who live there
- Wander through 50 acres of woodland, orchards, gardens and the community tree nursery
- Follow trails and make time for little discoveries along the way
- Visit the adventure playground before finishing the morning with a treat at the café (not included in ticket price)
Expect farmyard friends, woodland wandering and plenty to discover.
🌳 Blickling Estate | Tuesday 3rd November
- Join Blickling staff and volunteers for a guided adventure through the orchard and woodland
- Use Nature Packs with binoculars and digital microscopes to investigate the natural world
- Search for bugs, birds and mammals and look for tracks, feathers, nests and other signs of wildlife
- Discover some of the different habitats animals call home
- Take part in seasonal games and nature activities before finishing with hot drinks and snacks at the café (not included in ticket price)
Expect rosy cheeks, muddy wellies and plenty of woodland discoveries.
🍄 Sheringham Park | Tuesday 1st December
- Explore nearly 1,000 acres of parkland and woodland among ancient oaks and towering pines
- Search the forest floor for colourful leaves, fungi and other natural treasures
- Look closely at the different shapes, colours and textures we discover along the way
- Go pond dipping in the Bower Garden to see what might be living beneath the water
- Take part in simple seasonal nature activities with plenty of time to follow little discoveries together
Expect crunchy leaves and lots of wintery woodland discoveries.

Join us in the woods for a playful Samhain celebration as autumn turns towards the darker days of the year. Explore a woodland filled with pumpkins, potions, spiders and a little bit of magic.

Activities across the session may include:
- Gathering around the fire for seasonal stories and toasted marshmallows
- Testing balance and coordination on our giant paracord spider web and slackline
- Hammering golf tees into pumpkins and decorating them with natural woodland treasures
- Exploring the Witchy Den through imaginative play inspired by seasonal folklore
- Mixing fizzy potions, Dragon’s Brew and Witch’s Soup in the mud kitchen
- Pouring, scooping and experimenting with squishy chia-seed frogspawn
- Making stick-and-string spider webs, splat monsters and leaf monsters
- Meg & Mog-inspired POP, SNAP & BANG mark making
Expect firelight, folklore, sensory play, climbing, creativity and plenty of muddy woodland magic, with the freedom for children to explore at their own pace.
A playful and not-too-spooky autumn adventure for little woodland explorers and their grown-ups.
This half-term follows the woodland as autumn moves into winter, with a focus on fire, light, nocturnal wildlife, hibernation and caring for the woods. Children will explore charcoal and lantern making, investigate shadows and moonlight, search for winter wildlife and discover how animals find food and shelter through the colder months. As winter arrives, they’ll become Winter Woodland Keepers, helping to care for habitats, woodland birds and the changing woods around them.
Autumn Half-Term 2 Dates: 4th or 6th November to 25th or 27th November (4 weeks)

Activities across the half term may include:
- Exploring fire through tinder, kindling, flames, sparks, smoke and embers
- Charcoal mark making, firework-inspired art and woodland lantern making
- Exploring light, dark, shadows and reflections through torches, mirrors and sensory play
- Nocturnal animal play, squirrel scavenger hunts and hibernating hedgehog activities
Children will also explore:
- How owls, bats, foxes, hedgehogs and other woodland animals prepare for winter
- Winter Café and mud kitchen play, alongside seasonal campfire cooking
- Making pinecone feeders and caring for woodland birds
- Investigating hedgehog homes, bug hotels, log piles and other habitats
- Becoming Winter Woodland Keepers by moving leaves, collecting fallen wood and helping care for the woods
- Creating Tree Keeper doors and continuing seasonal woodland folklore and imaginative play

No. Term Memberships are booked on a fixed weekday. This helps keep groups calm, settled and consistent for children, and allows us to plan and staff sessions sustainably. Days cannot be swapped from week to week.

We are unable to offer refunds or session swaps for missed sessions. This applies to both Memberships and Seasonal Passes and helps us maintain a stable programme for all families.

The Seasonal Pass reflects the added flexibility of occasional attendance without a fixed weekly place. Term Membership offers the best value and supports the consistent staffing, planning and group rhythm that are central to our Forest School approach.

Yes. We offer sibling add-ons for both booking options, subject to availability. This allows families to attend together while keeping group sizes manageable.

Yes. WildTots is a parent-and-child programme, so grown-ups stay with their child throughout the session and remain responsible for them at all times.

Dress for the weather and for getting muddy. Waterproof coats and trousers, wellies, and warm layers are essential. Sessions run in most weather, allowing children to experience the seasons safely and comfortably.

Our regular WildTots Forest School sessions are for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Some WildTots events, including Wanderers, may be suitable from 12 months, so please check the individual session details.
Sessions are gentle, child led and inclusive, with activities adapted to suit a range of early years ages and stages.

If you choose a Term Membership, you will have a weekly place for the duration of the term. Seasonal Pass holders attend on the dates they have booked, depending on availability.

Yes. WildTots sessions are calm, unhurried and child led, with a familiar rhythm each week. This makes them especially supportive for children who need time to observe, settle or build confidence in new environments.

Sessions run in most weather, including rain and cold conditions, as this is part of the Forest School experience. In the event of unsafe weather, families will be contacted directly.

No. WildTots is suitable for families who are completely new to Forest School as well as those who may have attended previous sessions.

We use a separate entrance to our main GroWild Kindergarten entrance for our WildTots sessions. You can park on Falcon Road East, Sprowston, NR7 8XY and we meet you at the woodland gate.
