WildTots Event | Summer Special 2 | 10:00 - 11:30am
Our second summer holiday session takes you and your child back millions of years, as the woodland transforms into a prehistoric landscape inspired by Norfolk’s extraordinary Deep History Coast. Children can become explorers and palaeontologists, uncover hidden fossils and dinosaur remains, and investigate what Norfolk might have looked like long before people lived here.
Activities across the session may include:
-Dressing up as explorers and palaeontologists with costumes, rucksacks, hats and field equipment
-Gathering tools for the expedition, including binoculars, maps, brushes, trowels and spades
-Following an outdoor obstacle course expedition trail, with archaeological digs to discover and excavate along the way
-Clay printing using leaves, shells, bones, fossil moulds and dinosaur shapes to create prehistoric impressions
-Building clay volcanoes and triggering eruptions using bicarbonate of soda and coloured vinegar
-Swamp pool sensory play with green water, mud and chia seeds for dinosaurs to explore
-Making treasure rocks to hide and discover around the woodland
-Dino Dig and Wash, unearthing dinosaurs from mud and sand before cleaning them with water
Children will also explore:
-Fossils, bones and clues from the distant past
-How palaeontologists search for, uncover and record discoveries
-Norfolk’s prehistoric coastline and the creatures that once lived here
-Imaginative role play, physical challenges and hands-on excavation
